Bachelor of Science in Information Security

The Bachelor of Science in Information Security program offers a comprehensive curriculum that integrates theoretical computing foundations with practical, hands-on experience. Designed to develop professionals capable of defending digital assets against evolving cyber threats, the program’s core knowledge areas are: data, software, component, connection, system, human, organizational, and societal security. This comprehensive approach is anchored in experiential learning, ensuring student mastery through immersive labs, simulations, internships, and capstone projects.

Program Learning Outcomes

Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Information Security program are expected to be able to:

  1. Apply computing and information knowledge, including fundamentals, standards, and best practices, to analyze problems and develop appropriate solution models.
  2. Analyze information security challenges by identifying technology, user, and domain needs, and applying mathematical, computing, and security principles to inform decision-making.
  3. Design, implement, and evaluate secure IT solutions by selecting and using appropriate methods, frameworks, standards, and modern computing tools that meet varying security requirements.
  4.  Communicate and collaborate effectively as ethical and responsible professionals, functioning individually or in diverse, multidisciplinary teams, and conveying complex security concepts through written, oral, and visual means.
  5. Demonstrate professional responsibility and lifelong learning by upholding ethical standards, Lasallian core values, and legal and societal considerations, while continuously developing skills and adapting to evolving information security practices.
