DLSU Signs Deed of Donation for Julius Manalo Scholarship Grant

Featured Giving Story

De La Salle University signed a Deed of Donation on July 16, formally establishing the Julius Manalo Scholarship Grant. The grant will provide vital support to an incoming freshman STEM student, offering a living allowance to help cover dormitory and daily expenses — easing the financial burdens that often accompany university life.

The scholarship grant is named in honor of Mr. Julius Manalo, whose resilience and life journey have inspired many. By recognizing his story, DLSU hopes to encourage future scholars to embrace the Lasallian spirit of compassion, service, and paying it forward.

Featured Animo Story

For many Lasallians, De La Salle University is where lifelong passions take root. For Alvin Kingson Tan (ID 101), it began with a love for basketball, a championship victory, and a choice that quietly shaped his future.

He entered DLSU as a Marketing Management major and graduated in 2004, choosing Taft over other universities after witnessing the Green Archers’ triumphant win against UST. That defining moment, paired with the familiarity of friends from the Chinoy community and the practicality of a daily commute from Binondo, made DLSU feel like home even before classes began.
