Subject: Applications for Designation as Centers of Excellence (COEs)**

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has announced a call for applications for designation as Centers of Excellence (COEs) in various disciplines, excluding Teacher Education.

Based on the implementing guidelines outlined in CMO No. 10, s. 2025, our academic programs meet the pre-selection criteria, namely: a) Valid Government Recognition, and, b) Level II Program Accreditation. I strongly encourage all programs with Level II PAASCU accreditation status to apply.

Programs applying for COE designation will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • Innovation Culture (20 points)
  • Culture of Research and Creativity (20 points)
  • International Outlook (20 points)
  • Staff Development Tradition (20 points)
  • Learner and Graduate Quality (10 points)
  • Service Orientation (10 points)

To facilitate the application process, may I request that programs intending to apply accomplish this form. This will allow the Quality Assurance Office (QAO) to prepare the notarized legal document required for submission, as well as the institutional information that the program administrators need to include in their application.

Please note that each program is responsible for uploading its application form together with all necessary supporting documents via the CHED portal, accessible at this link. Only applications that are notarized and accompanied by complete supporting documents will be processed by CHED.

For monitoring purposes, QAO will document all submissions to the CHED portal. Kindly provide QAO with a record of your submission by October 25 through this link.
