Overview
The Quality Assurance Office (QAO) of De La Salle University supports the University in advancing academic quality through systematic quality assurance practices aligned with its mission, vision, and strategic priorities. The Office provides institutional coordination for quality assurance, assessment, and accreditation activities in support of continuous improvement across academic and administrative units.
Formerly part of the Strategic Management and Quality Assurance Office (SMQA) under the Office of the President, the Quality Assurance Office was established as a separate unit under the Office of the Provost beginning Academic Year 2025–2026. Headed by an Executive Director, the Office serves as the central unit responsible for coordinating internal and external quality assurance engagements.
A core responsibility of the Quality Assurance Office is the strengthening of the University’s Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS). Through systematic planning, monitoring, and evaluation of academic and support processes, the Office promotes coherence, accountability, and continuous improvement in teaching, research, and community engagement. The Office further supports evidence-based institutional evaluation through the structured use of quality-related data.
In addition, the Quality Assurance Office advances a sustained culture of quality by guiding capacity-building and professional development initiatives and by embedding quality assurance practices across academic and administrative operations in preparation for external assessment and accreditation.

Assessment and Accreditation Standards
Institutional and Program-Level Quality Assurance Practices
De La Salle University advances academic excellence through systematic assessment and accreditation practices aligned with recognized quality assurance standards. These practices form integral components of the University’s Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS), providing external validation of institutional effectiveness, academic quality, and governance practices.
Assessment supports the structured review of institutional and program performance, while accreditation affirms that established quality benchmarks are met. Together, these processes enable the University to respond to evolving quality assurance expectations, reinforce accountability, and support continuous improvement in teaching, research, and community engagement.
The Quality Assurance Office (QAO) coordinates and supports assessment and accreditation activities across the University in collaboration with academic and administrative units. Through sustained engagement with recognized quality assurance and accrediting bodies—including the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP), the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU), the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA), the Accrediting Body for Engineering and Technology (ABET), and the Philippine Technological Council – Accreditation and Certification Board for Engineering and Technology (PTC-ACBET)—the University demonstrates adherence to established quality standards.
Within the IQAS, assessment and accreditation outcomes serve as reference points for institutional monitoring, evaluation, and review. Institutional and program-level recognitions provide evidence of quality assurance maturity and inform ongoing efforts to strengthen coherence and effectiveness across academic and administrative processes.
These certification documents are provided as official references for the verification and documentation of the University’s assessment and accreditation status.
