Patents and Inventions

  • The DITO has filed close to 50 Philippine patent applications for DLSU inventions in fields such as biomedical devices, sensors, nanomaterials, chemical formulations, machine vision, and wastewater treatment.
  • Through a DOST-MIRDC project in July-September 2025, DITO supported 10 State Universities and Colleges in filing 10 patent applications in mechanical and agricultural technologies.

Recognition

  • At the IPOPHL ITSO Summit 2025, DLSU received all 2024 ITSO Cluster Awards, including Platinum and Palladium. These awards recognized the University’s performance in patents filed and granted (locally and abroad), commercialization of IP, and the delivery of patenting and capacity-building services—areas directly supported by DITO.
  • The DITO was recognized by the Department of Science and Technology–National Capital Region (DOST-NCR) as one of the country’s top technology generators during the 2025 NCR Innovation and Technology Transfer Summit held June 23–24, 2025.

Licensing, Spinoffs, and Technology Transfer Support

  • DITO facilitated licensing negotiations with three (3) DLSU spinoffs in education, smart cities, and machine vision.
  • DITO Project Directors have served as technology transfer officers in DLSU teams participating in the DOST-PCIEERD-supported Filipinnovation Entrepreneurship Corps, including teams working on wastewater treatment, physical rehabilitation devices, and structural integrity systems.
  • DITO has assisted research teams in preparing strategic commercialization plans, including for technologies relating to airless tires, drones, and subterranean sensors.

Capacity-Building

  • DITO has conducted two (2) programs for De La Salle Philippines universities, resulting in stronger IP-related policies, improved protocols, and higher IP awareness across the network.
