Student Organization
MATHEMATICS CIRCLE
The DLSU Mathematics Circle (MC) serves as the home organization of the university’s Mathematics and Statistics undergraduate students from the College of Science. The organization revolves around spearheading initiatives that recognize the relevance and applicability of mathematics and statistics towards both academic and non-academic sectors. This includes the development of skills and knowledge towards mathematical research, the exploration of industry-specific insights, and the showcasing of appreciation towards mathematics’ and statistics’ relevance in nation-building and development. Furthermore, MC opens itself to those who are interested in developing a sense of fondness, curiosity, and appreciation for the subject. This is all in an effort to emphasize and live by the organization’s theme of Rigorously Proving Excellence.
Mission
The organization is committed to developing the mathematical interests and skills of its officers and members, to providing opportunities for students students to harness their critical thinking, to establishing fellowship and cooperation among each other, to fostering the Lasallian spirit in intellectual, social, physical and moral growth, and to committing themselves in becoming whole persons thru mathematical and statistical means.
Vision
The organization aims to be a leading institution in promoting mathematics and statistics nationwide. MC ambitions to be the focal point of curious, driven, and committed individuals from across the country to fulfill their appreciation and curiosity for the subject. This may hopefully then lead to a sustainable network of mathematics and statistics enthusiasts connected through this shared calling and sense of purpose.
